Finally, proof that, contrary to all expectations, I did in fact grow up. Tonight, when this is happening in our fair city, I am taking my little girls to this (the top story).
I would beg to differ that attending “Nutcracker” does not a grown-up make, but perhaps some things are better left unsaid. Besides, if you were too grown up, I would feel much more guilty about still being so immature myself.
Many years ago my folks took our family to see “The Nutcracker” in Seattle. After the performance, as we were walking out of the Opera House, I asked my oldest son (Josiah) what he thought of the show. His reply: “It was pretty good. Except there was way too much dancing.” Yup, ’nuff said.
P.S. My girls were enthralled by the ballet, dancing included.
